Restructuring FERC Looks for Leaders Nationwide

Candidates to head up three main divisions of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission being created in the on-going FERC First restructuring should have their applications in to the Commission by Sept. 24, according to a government job notice being circulated nationwide. A salary between $106,412 and $125,900 comes with the directors' positions for the Office of Markets, Tariffs and Rates, the Office of Strategy and Organization Management, and the Office of Administrative Litigation.

The employment opportunities posted under the top Civil Service job ranking, the Senior Executive Service, are open to candidates both inside and outside government. All three positions report directly to the FERC chairman.

While the jobs are being advertised, the offices they will head up have yet to be created. Teams are being organized with representation from all across the Commission to work on setting up the new organizational structure which could take as long as 20 months to complete. Kevin Madden, head of the Office of Pipeline Regulation will "sponsor" or direct the team organizing the markets and rates division.
