El Paso Exits NrG Partnership
El Paso Energy sold its 25% interest in NrG Information Services
to NrG's remaining partners, NOVA Gas Transmission., TransCanada
PipeLines, and Westcoast Energy. "This decision allows El Paso
Energy to continue focusing on its core businesses, including
natural gas transmission, gas gathering and processing, energy
marketing, and international project development," said Graciela E.
Martinez, El Paso vice president.
NrG is an electronic service for arranging transportation on
Iroquois Gas Transmission, NOVA Gas Transmission, TransCanada
Pipelines, and Westcoast Energy. The partnership change follows
several months of restructuring at NrG. The company is focusing on
computer software products and services for existing pipeline
customers and their shippers.
"The change in ownership does not affect our commitment to our
customers or to our continued product development," said Peter
Krenkel, president of Calgary-based NrG. "NrG's restructured,
leaner organization is moving forward with product enhancements and
new Web developments...."
