Avista Signs Up Commercial Chains

Energy services company Avista Advantage signed contracts with 36 Musicland and 59 Busy Body Home Fitness sites throughout the United States. The company now serves 3,500 customers in 48 states. Both Musicland and Busy Body Home Fitness are members of RETEX, a retail technology buying consortium. Avista Advantage is RETEX's preferred provider of energy services. RETEX represents about 1,600 member retail companies.

"Our affiliation with RETEX was instrumental in allowing us to reach agreements with two new customers," said Gerry Crooks, Avista Advantage chief operating officer. "We are pleased that Musicland and Busy Body Home Fitness have joined us and that they will soon begin realizing savings through the use of our industry-leading products and services."

Initially, Avista Advantage will provide its ACIS (Advantage Customer Internet Site) brand technology for resource accounting to Musicland. Avista Advantage will provide resource accounting and consolidated billing services to Busy Body.

Through ACIS, utility (gas, power, water, and sewer) bills will be consolidated into a single statement and further analyzed for cost savings opportunities. Avista Advantage will evaluate each Busy Body site for additional energy savings.
