Although The Weather Channel’s forecast for Tuesday in Florida called for a bit of cooling, Florida Gas Transmission not only kept an Overage Alert for market-area customers going into its 11th day Tuesday but also tightened the tolerance for negative daily imbalances to 10% from the 25% that had been in effect since the first Overage Alert Day on May 2.

Northwest reported detecting a mainline leak Monday just north of Vernal Compressor Station and estimated Tuesday that it will need two days to repair the leak. As a result Northwest said primary nominations north through Vernal and at the Silver Dome receipt point were being cut to zero until further notice. The pipeline notified shippers of a Declared Deficiency Period at Vernal beginning Tuesday that was expected to continue through Wednesday. Based on a design capacity of 334,000 Dth/d, the Daily Deficiency Volume is 334,000 Dth/d, Northwest said.

Due to a force majeure situation with Unit 5 at P-3 Compressor Station on the Panhandle Lateral, Transwestern has reduced P-3 capacity from 253,000 MMBtu/d to about 180,000 MMBtu/d. Five pipeline interconnects are affected until full capacity is expected to be restored Saturday.

Citing gas quality issues, ANR said the South Marsh Island 61 receipt point offshore Louisiana was shut in Tuesday until further notice.

Southern Natural Gas said Tuesday it has approved a repair plan for a section of its 24-inch diameter second North Main Line in north-central Alabama, which was removed from service Saturday (see Daily GPI, May 12). The work was previously estimated to take seven days, but Southern now says it anticipates returning the line to service by Thursday.

Sea Robin Pipeline said it is adding the South Marsh Island 128A location, operated by Devon Energy, Wednesday to a list of 25 other offshore receipt points for which it lifted an OFO that had been issued Aug. 30, 2008. “This is in accordance” with its FERC tariff “as a result of the completion of the inspections after Hurricane Ike,” Sea Robin said.
