Pacific Gas & Electric issued a systemwide Stage 2 high-inventory OFO for Monday, lifted it Tuesday and then issued a new one for Wednesday. Both OFOs carried penalties of $1/Dth for positive daily imbalances exceeding a 5% tolerance.

Southern Natural Gas canceled Saturday a Type 6 OFO for long imbalances that had been implemented at the start of Friday’s gas day.

Northern Natural Gas posted notices Sunday, Monday and Tuesday saying that due to inclement weather that caused widespread power losses in its field production area, both Northern and upstream facilities were being impacted by supply reductions into the pipeline. Northern said allocations for the gas days of Dec. 31 through Jan. 4 “may be required,” although none of the notices actually specified that allocations were taking place. “At this time it is unknown when power will be restored and operations returned to normal,” the Tuesday posting said.

A pig will be launched from the Mustang Island 758 platform on the Matagorda Offshore Pipeline System (MOPS) each Monday during 2007 starting Jan. 8 and lasting through Dec. 31, MOPS operator Northern Natural Gas said. “Scheduled volume may be affected depending on the amount of liquids received,” Northern said. “There is a potential to shut in all production at any time during this pigging activity.”

Replacement of the catalysts on main Unit #8 Jan. 2-7 and on main Unit #9 Jan 8-12 are causing the loss of 17 MMcf/d of injection capacity at the Playa Del Ray facility, Southern California Gas said Tuesday.

Kern River reported that effective with the Jan. 1 gas day, the operator of the Boron delivery meter has asked to change the meter’s allocation methodology from pro-rata to swing on an Operational Balancing Agreement. “In conjunction with this allocation change, Boron will now be associated with FT or IT California pools,” Kern River said.
