Thursday’s halt by Northern Natural Gas of a System Overrun Limitation notice that had been in effect for two and a half weeks lasted only one day. The pipeline declared a new SOL for all market-area zones effective Friday.

NNG also said Thursday afternoon it had experienced a force majeure on its East Leg line east of the Earlville (IA) Compressor Station when a farm tap was hit and damaged by a vehicle. The pipeline estimated it would take 12 hours to evacuate gas out of the affected section and repair the pipe; meanwhile, some curtailments through Earlville might be required, it said.

Westcoast said a main seal failure on the K-100 inlet compressor at Kwoen Plant is expected to take about seven days for replacement. K-100 will be out of service during the work, but the plant will continue to run. Westcoast will adjust downstream compression to reduce inlet pressure at Pine River Gas Plant, which will also lower field pressures in the Grizzly Valley Gathering System in an attempt to minimize impact to customers.

Sonat will reduce IT capacity on its 26-inch Main Pass line offshore southeastern Louisiana during maintenance scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Olga Compressor Station.

The Agua Dulce meter in South Texas was back in service following completion of line replacement work on Line 3 between Main Line Valves 1 and 2, Tennessee said Thursday afternoon. The project, which began Monday, previously had been expected to last five days (see Daily GPI, Jan. 20).

NOVA said upcoming maintenance activity requires a decrease in target linepack, so it wants to make firms sales of 195,000 gigajoules. It has requested unconditional index-based tenders for all or some of the decrease either through physical flow of gas at receipt points or inventory transfers. The sale will be required over a period of up to five days starting on or about Feb. 23. Tenders are due by 1 p.m. MST Monday.
