Due to colder than normal temperatures and system conditions, Northern Natural Gas issued a System Overrun Limitation Sunday. It remains in effect through at least Wednesday’s gas day.

With near-freezing weather predicted in the northern half of Florida through Wednesday morning, Florida Gas Transmission issued an Overage Alert Day notice for its market area Tuesday. The notice set a 20% tolerance for negative daily imbalances.

Based on revised weather forecasts and projected demand, Sonat told shippers Monday that an OFO Type 3 scheduled to be implemented Tuesday for eight delivery groups was being canceled instead. It also canceled a capacity allocation slated Tuesday for the North Alabama Group, but said capacity allocations for the Chattanooga Group, East Tennessee Group and Tallapoosa Group, which began Monday, will remain in effect until further notice.

MRT implemented a System Protection Warning on Monday but said it would be lifted effective with the start of Wednesday’s gas day.

Effective with Friday’s Timely Cycle nominations, Tennessee ended an OFO Balancing Alert for Zones 5 and 6 that had been implemented on the previous Wednesday evening. However, the pipeline reminded customers that “demand in Zones 5 and 6 remains high and flows should continue to match scheduled volumes.”

Algonquin lifted Saturday a Critical Notice limiting imbalance tolerances to 2%. However, it left in place a ban on accepting nominations for due-shipper imbalance make-ups.

El Paso reported that White Rock Station’s #2 turbine experienced damage to the exhaust system and will be unavailable until around Feb. 2. San Juan Basin capacity has been reduced by 175 MMcf/d until the turbine’s return.

NOVA said in-line inspection of its 20-inch Peace River Mainline was extended due to unanticipated failure of a temporary compressor. FT and IT services in Segment 1, restricted Friday to facilitate the inspection, was restored at the start of Tuesday’s gas day instead of Monday morning as originally expected (see Daily GPI, Jan. 14).
