Dynegy has announced plans to construct a 155 MW natural
gas-fired power generation facility, the Calcasieu Generation
Project, near Lake Charles, LA. Power generated at the
simple-cycle peaking facility will be sold in the wholesale power
market starting in the second quarter of 2000. The plant will be
located on the site of a recently constructed natural gas liquids
fractionation facility operated by subsidiary Dynegy Midstream
Services Ltd. Partnership. The power will enter the grid through a
230 kilovolt Entergy Services transmission line interconnect.
