Daniel L. Larcamp was appointed director of the Office ofMarkets, Tariffs and Rates at the Federal Energy RegulatoryCommission (FERC). The office and position were created as part ofinternal restructuring at the Commission under the FERC Firstprogram.

Larcamp has served as senior counsel and policy advisor to FERCChairman James. J. Hoecker on electric power issues since August1998. The new office will deal with matters involving markets,tariffs and rates in electric, natural gas, and oil facilities. Itwill play a lead role in monitoring, promoting and maintainingcompetitive markets and refining compliance auditing as itintegrates the Commission’s economic regulation of the gas andelectric industries.

This is the fifth new office to be opened under FERC First. InFebruary, the Commission announced the opening of the Office ofAdministrative Litigation and the Dispute Resolution Service. InJuly, the Commission opened the Office of Strategy andOrganizational Management, and the Office of Finance, Accountingand Operations.
