Walt Rosenbusch, a native of Austin, TX, has been appointed
director of the Minerals Management Service, succeeding Cynthia
Quarterman who resigned in February. Rosenbusch takes office May
17. Since July, 1996 he has worked as a senior tax manager for
Ernst & Young's Houston Energy Service Team. Prior to that
Rosenbusch was with the U.S. Dept. of Interior in the land and
minerals management area, working to resolve royalty issues
involving on- and offshore leasing. He had worked in the Texas
General Land Office where he was responsible for the management and
administration of 13.5 million mineral acres.
Anadarko Petroleum Corp. recently elected John Seitz as COO and
president of the company. He had been working as Anadarko's
executive vice president-exploration and production. Seitz has held
executive positions in Anadarko's E&P division since 1989. He
will continue to oversee U.S. and international E&P operations
as well as report to Robert Allison, the company's CEO.
Duke Energy named James Donnell president and CEO of Duke Energy
Power Services, then changed the subsidiary's name to Duke Energy
North America. The name change signified the consolidation of all
of Duke's non-regulated energy businesses under one company, Duke
said. Donnell had been vice president of Duke Energy Power
Services. He joined Duke in 1997 when PanEnergy and Duke merged.
Prior to that, he was senior vice president of PanEnergy. A Duke
spokesperson said because of the new company's focus on the entire
North American continent instead of just on U.S. operations, the
position Donnell is accepting is a newly created one.
Cynthia (CJ) Cordova has been elected vice president, market
development of the American Gas Association. The AGA Market
Development Division coordinates national accounts and market
support programs, promotes the adoption of codes and standards to
promote increased use of natural gas and conducts market planning,
analysis and research. Cordova had been AGA director of corporate
