At the end of March, the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI) said its first oil and natural gas lease auction of the year grossed $2.7 million from bids on 169 parcels covering more than 68,000 acres. OSLI offered 210 parcels of state trust land for leasing covering 85,003 acres across 15 counties. The auction was open for a week, attracting 96 bidders, according to Bridget Hill, OSLI director. Funds from the auction will benefit 12 of the state trust beneficiaries, including a common school (K-12 grades) fund.
