The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee has favorably reported the nomination of Linda Capuano to be administrator of the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The nomination now goes to the full Senate for final confirmation. President Trump nominated Capuano to head EIA in November. Capuano, a fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy’s Center for Energy Studies, is a previous vice president of technology at Marathon Oil Corp. and has served on the board of the California Independent System Operator. She is an associate member of the National Academy of Sciences and earned doctorate and master’s degrees from Stanford University, as well as degrees from University of Colorado at Boulder and from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
