James P. Danlyhas been appointed to serve as FERC’s general counsel beginning Sept. 18. Danly, a former U.S. Army officer twice deployed to Iraq, joins the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from the energy regulation and litigation group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP. He previously served as law clerk to Judge Danny Boggs on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Danly has also worked as managing director for the Institute for the Study of War in Washington, DC, and served an International Affairs Fellowship at the Council on Foreign Relations. David Morenoff, FERC's general counsel since February, is resuming his former position as deputy general counsel.
