The Williams Companies Inc. said Stephen Chazen, former president and CEO and current board director of Occidental Petroleum Corp.; and Peter Ragauss, former CFO of Baker Hughes Inc. and current board director at Apache Corp., have been appointed to the Williams board, effective immediately. Three Williams directors who served prior to 2016 will not stand for re-election at the 2016 annual meeting, the company said. Five new directors (i.e., directors who were not serving on the board as of July 1), Stephen Bergstrom, Chazen, Ragauss, Scott Sheffield and William Spence, in addition to four Williams directors who served prior to 2016, will stand for election as nominees at the annual meeting. The board plans to identify two additional candidates to join the board prior to the meeting. If the nominees are elected, the board will have 11 directors, 10 of whom are independent. The board has reconstituted its Nominating and Governance Committee. Bergstrom, Chazen and Kathleen B. Cooper have been appointed to the committee, with Bergstrom serving as chairman. Williams is remaking its board after an aborted attempt to merge with Energy Transfer Partners LP while being targeted by an activist investor (see Daily GPI, Sept. 9).

Tellurian Investments said R. Keith Teague has joined the company as executive vice president and COO. Teague recently left Cheniere Energy Inc., where he served as executive vice president for the asset group. CEO Meg Gentle, who recently left Cheniere (see Daily GPI, Aug. 31) said, “At Cheniere, [Teague] was responsible for the development, construction and operation of the liquefied natural gas terminal and pipeline assets. In this capacity, he oversaw the design and permitting of over 40 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefaction capacity in Louisiana and Texas, the delivery of the Creole Trail Pipeline, and the first two trains at Sabine Pass ahead of schedule, on budget and at a very low cost compared to the rest of the industry.” Tellurian is developing Driftwood LNG is a 26 million ton per annum export facility proposed to be sited near Lake Charles, LA. Driftwood LNG is in the engineering design and pre-filing phase of the project.
