Michael A. Creel, CEO of Enterprise Products Partners LP‘s general partner, plans to retire Dec. 31. COO A.J. “Jim” Teague is to become CEO at that time. Teague has served as a director of Enterprise’s general partner since 2008 and as COO since 2010. He joined Enterprise in 1999 and is a retiree of The Dow Chemical Co. W. Randall Fowler has been elected chief administrative officer effective April 1. He has served as a director of Enterprise’s general partner since 2011 and as Enterprise’s executive vice president and CFO since 2007. Bryan F. Bulawa has been elected senior vice president and CFO effective April 1. He has served as Enterprise’s senior vice president and treasurer since 2009. Christian M. “Chris” Nelly has been elected vice president and treasurer effective April 1. He has served as senior director of finance since 2011.

Chevron Corp. Vice ChairmanGeorge L. Kirkland, 64, who has run the upstream division since 2005, is retiring effective June 15. Kirkland joined Chevron in 1974 and became vice chairman in 2010. Under his guidance Chevron discovered and has begun producing from the Jack and St. Malo fields in the Gulf of Mexico’s Lower Tertiary Trend. Kirkland also assembled the company’s unconventional natural gas and oil assets in North America, and he led development of liquefied natural gas facilities in Australia. Jay Johnson, 56, senior vice president of the upstream division since early 2014, is to succeed Kirkland. Johnson previously was president of Chevron’s Europe, Eurasia and Middle East exploration and production company. Effective with Kirkland’s retirement, Joe Geagea, 55, is to be appointed executive vice president of technology, projects and services.

Barry Smitherman, former chairman of the Railroad Commission of Texas and the Texas Public Utility Commission, is joining law firm Vinson & Elkins as a partner April. 1. Smitherman, who will practice in the firm’s Austin office, will focus on advising energy industry clients with matters pending before state and federal regulatory agencies throughout the United States and will support the firm’s energy transaction and litigation practices. Having served for more than a decade on Texas’ top energy commissions, Smitherman has particular experience with electric transmission development, energy storage, renewable power generation, hydraulic fracturing and related oil/gas development issues, the firm said.
