The American Petroleum Institute has opened a Denver office, the Colorado Petroleum Council (CPC), to focus on “energy priorities,” including hydraulic fracturing and energy infrastructure. Tracee Bentley, former legislative director for Gov. John Hickenlooper, was named executive director. API is represented in 34 state capitals and the District of Columbia. Bentley is a graduate of Colorado State University in Fort Collins. The CPC is API’s second expansion in recent weeks, following its creation of a midstream unit (see Daily GPI, Jan. 14).
