American Energy Partners LP (AELP) named Jeffrey A. Fisher CEO of American Energy Appalachia Holdings LLC (AEA). Aubrey K. McClendon will continue as chairman of AELP and AEA. AEA was formed by combining American Energy-Utica LLC and American Energy-Marcellus LLC (see Shale Daily,Jan. 5). Fisher has been COO of AELP since November 2013 and previously was executive vice president of Chesapeake Energy Corp. Also tapped to run AEA is former Chesapeake executive John K. Reinhart, who is to serve as COO with CFO Jeffrey A. Agosta. Reinhart was an eight-year Chesapeake veteran executive before joining AEA in 2014. Agosta joined AEA in early 2014 after serving as CFO of Devon Energy Corp.

Carlos Pascual has joined IHS Inc. as senior vice president to focus on global energy issues and international affairs. Pascual, a U.S. energy envoy and coordinator for international energy affairs, directed the Energy Resources Bureau at the U.S. State Department and was senior adviser to the secretary of state on energy issues. He served as U.S. ambassador to Mexico from 2009 to 2011 and previously was special assistant to President Obama for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia on the National Security Council. He also served for four years as director of foreign policy studies at the Brookings Institution. Pascual’s “distinguished career is matched by the respect in which he’s held around the world,” said IHS Vice Chairman Daniel Yergin.
